There has been no further update regarding Italy’s €2 handling  fee on low-value shipments (≤ €150) from non-EU countries, which took effect  on 1 January 2026. The fee applies across all business models and is to be  collected by Italy’s Customs and Monopolies Agency upon final importation. 

A transitional deferral period is in place for January and  February shipments, with collection scheduled for 15 March 2026. It remains  unclear whether authorities will proceed with collection as planned, as some  officials have indicated the measure may be amended or withdrawn.
