The US Customs and Border Protection filed a potential refund process.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) filed a declaration withJudge Eaton of the U.S. Court of International Trade outlining a proposal for apotential refund process for tariffs collected under the InternationalEmergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). CBP noted that it cannot currentlycomply with refund orders due to the volume of affected entries and technicallimitations but is developing a new automated refund process. The system, expected within the next 45 days, would allow importers to submit refunddeclarations through the ACE portal, with refunds issued electronically by theU.S. Treasury. Importers are encouraged to ensure their ACE accounts and ACHrefund authorizations are properly configured.
