The European Parliament and Council have formally adopted an agreement to delay the implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Under the new timeline, large and medium-sized operators and traders would see the application date pushed to December 30, 2026, with micro-and small operators receiving an additional six-month extension to June 30, 2027. This represents a one-year shift from the previously scheduled deadline of December 30, 2025.
As part of the same provisional agreement, printed products — including books, journals, newspapers, and magazines — would be fully excluded from the scope of the EUDR. Although the proposal has not yet been formally adopted, it is widely expected to be confirmed during final negotiations later this month.
