The seven-month customs strike and slowdown in Brazil has finally come to an end.
The seven-month customs strike and slowdown in Brazil has finally come to an end. In June, a judge ordered customs authorities to halt the strike immediately, but customs appealed the decision. This week, after exhausting all appeals, the ruling stands, officially ending the strike. The extended disruption had significant impacts on imports and exports at major ports, including Santos in São Paulo state, the largest in Latin America. Companies dealing with perishable goods and time-sensitive materials were hit the hardest.
