Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) have reached tentative five-year collective agreements

Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) have reached tentative five-year collective agreements covering both the Urban and Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier (RSMC) bargaining units, following the finalization of contractual language for agreements reached in principle in November 2025.
The tentative agreements, which would run through January 31, 2029, include wage increases tied to inflation in later years, enhanced benefits, maintained defined benefit pensions, and the introduction of a new operating model to support weekend parcel delivery. The union will administer a ratification vote for CUPW-represented employees, and both parties have agreed not to engage in strike or lockout activity during the ratification process.
